Our Code of Conduct
At Compassionate Behaviour and Training we both work within certain parameters of our roles and accrediting bodies. This means all complex behaviour cases must be seen by Marie as a Clinical Animal Behaviourist (CAB) initially before being referred down to Abi as a Training Instructor. As a CAB Marie works under Vet referral to ensure a holistic treatment plan can be provided. This also means most pet insurance companies will cover costs.
As a trainer Abi teaches new behaviours and focuses on coaching pet parents through training. This can be apart of behaviour modification set out by a treatment plan formulated by a CAB, or simply to help you teach your pooch a new life skill or trick.
Understanding who you need to see
As stated above all complex behaviour cases MUST be seen by Marie for an Initial Behaviour Consultation before any training can be undertaken. This is due to a behaviour modification plan needing to be created by a CAB to assess to the root cause of any problem behaviours. During the Initial consultation Marie will explore the possible cause of behaviour and assess the motivation and emotion that is driving the behaviour. Marie will work with you and your referring vet to devise a treatment plan that works for both you and your dog.
Examples of complex behaviours that Marie can help with:
- Resource guarding
- Separation related issues
- Reactivity
- Aggression
- Abnormal or Stereotypical behaviours
- Fears and Phobias
Abi is able to teach new behaviours to all dogs no matter age, breed or size and is able to help with simple commonly seen issues. This could be helping with:
- Loose Lead walking
- Settling out in public
- Safe traveling
- Puppy life skills
- Basic obedience and manners
- Fun tricks
- And anything else you want to teach your dog for fun
